PT Macananjaya Cemerlang is one of the largest publishing and printing companies in Indonesia

Located in Klaten City, Central Java, PT Macananjaya Cemerlang operates in a modern facility with a production area of more than 38,000 m². As a publisher and printing company established more than 30 years ago, it offers customers state-of-the-art production technologies to transform creative ideas into high-quality printed products.

“Printing means converting creative ideas into graphic works. For us, the trust given by our customers, be it a government institution, a private company, or individuals, is a mandate to be executed wholeheartedly. Since the beginning, we have responded to such trust by producing large-scale printing works for different sectors such as education, religion, culture, and commercial printing”, says Mr. Sugeng Sentosa (CEO of PT Macananjaya Cemerlang).

The company produces more than 100 million books annually in various binding methods: thread sewing, perfect binding, and saddle stitching in softcover and hardcover finishing.

CHALLENGE

“Holy books need to be durable, and the binding method must enhance the beauty of the printing and reading experience. Thread sewing is the only binding method that gives books these properties. Every signature is sewn tightly to the previous one to form a structure that can stand the test of time. To perform this process efficiently requires fully automated and highly performant machines”, continues Mr. Sugeng Sentosa.

SOLUTION

asterTOP, automatic book sewing machine, was PT Macananjaya Cemerlang’s choice in 2016. This model is the fastest machine on the market, producing books with the highest efficiency, reliability, and uptime. The company continued to modernize its production facility, and in the following years, five more asterTOPs completed the luxury binding division, which today totals six automatic book sewing machines.

RESULTS

As a company that prioritizes professionalism, we are committed to the continuous improvement of our processes. We needed to increase our efficiency of the book sewing process to reduce book lead time consistently. We are satisfied with the six asterTOP; the high reliability and machine uptime have helped us achieve our goals.
