Scandinavian Print Group stands for high-quality innovative printing and binding technologies

LaserTryk was founded in 1999 as the first online print company in Scandinavia, focusing on producing marketing material for the entertainment industry. In a few years, it quickly grew to an international group of companies with a much larger scope of production.

The company is now part of Online Printers with production facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Poland. In Szczecin’s facility, Lasertryck is specialized in ultra-short runs production of books printed in digital.

We constantly focus on efficiency to ensure the lowest possible price to the customer, which is done by producing intelligently. In 2002 we invented the word “puljetryk” or “gang-run printing”, a method in which multiple printing jobs are placed on a standard sheet to reduce costs and waste”, says Mr. Arkadiusz Trąbski, Chief Technology Officer of Scandinavian Print Group.

We have been a customer of Meccanotecnica for more than 20 years. Initially, with the aster book sewing machines for offset print finishing and more recently with the advent of digital printing, the investments have been directed toward solutions for digital print finishing.

We wanted to meet the increasing demand for high-quality books produced in short runs and help publishers minimize inventory and waste.

We have invested in three Universe book sewing machines in the last five years”, says Mr. Trąbski. “The last addition was the Universe Web, which directly processes the printed roll and produces thread-sewn book blocks without any risk of missing pages. In this way, there are fewer touchpoints between printing and finishing.

Thread sewing is known for its high quality, resistance, and longevity. The use of this bookbinding technique is, therefore, application driven. For example, it is essential when producing educational books that are intensively used and subject to wear, hardcover production for its quality, or photobooks for their longevity.
