Multifunctional book finishing line for digital printing.
The book-finishing line can be fed either in-line or near-line by the Universe series of automatic folding and book-sewing machines available in both cut-sheet and continuous feed configurations.
Proxima NE enables the preparation of thread-sewn books for hard cover binding by integrating two processes: the nipping of the spine, and the end-sheet tipping. This cost-effective solution automates high-quality book production while reducing labor requirements.
The central piece of the line is the Sirio perfect binder. This heavy-duty industrial binder allows book production in short runs, down to a single book. What sets the Sirio apart is its unique, patented drive system, which enables it to run up to 1350 cycles per hour with the highest efficiency in its category, and the capability of processing the widest range of book format (up to A3).
The automatic three-knife trimmer for digital printing performs fully variable changeovers to produce books in short runs down to one copy even with flaps.
