Proxima NE enables the preparation of hardcover thread-sewn books by integrating two processes: the nipping of the spine, and the end-sheet tipping. This cost-effective solution requires just one operator, automating high-quality book production while reducing labor requirements.

The infeed station is equipped with an integrated spine nipping press. With 4 tons of pressure and two sets of active clamps, it minimizes spine build-up and ensures higher-quality products.
End-sheets are extracted from the hoppers by a set of double-belts and applied to the book block through glue guns. Pushers move the blocks into the interface station, where end-sheets are secured in their position. A second thickness reading device measures the spine thickness for fine adjustments. Upon request, the height of the end-sheets can be set according to production requirements.
Proxima NE can be connected downstream to an automated book sewer and upstream to a binder to streamline production.
The multifunctional book finishing line combines four key machines: a book sewer, a nipping and end-sheet tipper, a binder, and a trimming unit. This system allows the production of books using two binding methods: thread sewing and perfect binding. Additionally, it offers various finishing options, including softcover and hardcover preparation.
Proxima NE can be also connected to a binder and a trimmer to produce both softcover and hardcover bound books. This line provides bookbinders with considerable versatility and flexibility, enabling seamless production with a range of finishing options within the same workflow.
