The 23rd of April is the World Book and Copyright Day, called by the UNESCO General Conference

During this year of restrictions, distancing and isolation, people have found an anchor in books and have read more than in any other times.

Books are powerful: they can help us fighting isolation, expanding our horizons, and stimulating our minds and creativity. Reading allows to open ourselves to others despite distance and travel through imagination.

The choice of the date is symbolic. Around the 23rd of April, in fact, in 1616, three giants of World literature such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare, and Garcilaso Inca de la Vega died.

World Book and Copyright Day is an opportunity to support the publishing industry and to recognize the positive effects that books have on our lives.

As a leading company in Industrial Book Finishing Solutions, Meccanotecnica believes in the importance of promoting reading and in the key role that the book will continue to have in the future of the publishing industry and in our life as expressed in our company motto: Book…your Future.
