Amity, a globally recognized leader in the production of thin paper books and periodicals, has once again demonstrated its commitment to innovation and excellence.
On May 15, 2025, Amity, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Meccanotecnica Group. This partnership aims to introduce an advanced digital book finishing solution, significantly strengthening Amity’s service capabilities in an evolving publishing landscape.
The collaboration between Amity and Meccanotecnica (known for its Aster brand) spans over 30 years. The relationship began when Amity was seeking a solution for binding books printed on ultra-lightweight 30 g/m² paper. After evaluating several options, Amity discovered Meccanotecnica’s innovative automatic book sewing machine at a local trade show—a machine that perfectly met their technical requirements. This discovery laid the foundation for a longstanding and fruitful partnership.
Liu Lei (pictured sixth from the left), General Manager of Amity, attributes the company’s loyalty to Meccanotecnica equipment to three key factors:
- Advanced technology and machine stability that guarantee consistent product quality;
- High production efficiency;
- Low maintenance costs.
The newly signed agreement marks a significant milestone. The digital post-press solution introduced through this collaboration is tailored to meet the demands of modern publishing—especially the increasing need for personalized, small-batch, and diverse products, while still supporting traditional large-scale print jobs.
The event concluded with the official signing of the cooperation agreement, witnessed by representatives from China Printing magazine. A celebratory toast marked the beginning of a new chapter in this enduring partnership.
