The International Graphic Arts Show of Japan

IGAS – International Graphic Arts Show has just come to an end. The event took place from the 26th to the 31st of July at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan.
Under the theme “Venture into the Next!” the exhibition attracted many visitors which were mostly decision makers or professionals in the graphic arts industry.
Meccanotecnica, hosted by our local representative SK Sales, showcased asterEVO, automatic book sewing machine. With a running top speed of 12.000 cycles/h, asterEVO is a compact solution that offers high performance and top engineering quality of the aster range.

During the exhibition, SCREEN JAPAN press announced the workflow collaboration with Meccanotecnica, for the introduction, in the software EQUIOS, of the UNIVERSE sewing’s imposition and barcode specifications. The latest version (ver. 3.4) of EQUIOS provides roll-to-book imposition and variable barcode output functions that support automation with Meccanotecnica’s Universe Sewing Web-fed.

This collaboration combined with the Truepress Jet520HD’s high-quality printing capabilities creates an ideal solution for book printers and publishers to produce high-end hardbound books on demand, using thread sewing, which is the strongest and most secure binding method for producing long-lasting books with a superior quality finishing.
